Raise your hand if you’re looking forward to a rousing game of Pictionary over the holidays? Every year I think I’m going to find a new game to try out on Christmas Day but we always come back to our white board and dry erase markers. I’m a horrible artist but that only makes it more fun, right?

I love board games and I’ll venture to bet you do too. Maybe it’s not Pictionary? Then perhaps it’s you and your family-by-friendship laughing till you cry playing Cards Against Humanity.

I am guessing for some of you, Christmas Eve or Day wouldn’t be the same without then entire clan gathered around the kitchen table for a Monopoly marathon. (Except for your brother who quits in the first 15 minutes when he decides it’s impossible for him to win.)

If game night is part of your holiday experience I am guessing so are the snacks. I don’t want you to miss out or feel left out. You can enjoy a treat and you can make better choices. While it is really about THE GAME, you can come up with healthier ways to nosh and make room for a piece of peanut butter fudge. Cards Against Humanity – If you’ve never played this game a word of warning – adults only! It pairs perfect with something spicy. I suggest wasabi peas, roasted smoked paprika chickpeas from Rebecca at Strength & Sunshine or these Hot & Sour Celery Pickles from Vegetarian Times.

Movie Bingo – You can find printable bingo cards on Pinterest to take movie night to a whole new level! Watch Christmas Vacation or Elf while snacking on air-popped popcorn.
