I’m a big believer in second chances. Sometimes initial meetings and impressions can be off, for lots of reasons. I think there is always room for change or improvement.

So when the people at thinkThin reached out to me recently about doing a review and giveaway of their newest bar, thinkThin Crunch

You might remember I reviewed the original thinkThin

bars awhile back. I wasn’t terribly impressed. Compared to some of my favorites, they just didn’t stand up well.  But I liked the sound of a “Crunch” bar. I was ready to give the thinkThin folks a second chance.

When my box of bars arrived I thought it would be a good idea to share the wealth. That way I could get more than my just opinion and perhaps help a client in the process.  I have a client who is always on the go and was looking for a handy bar she could take anywhere but didn’t want anything sweet. Since cleaning up her diet she was finding a lot of bars too sweet for her reformed tastes.

I think the thinkThin Crunch bars may have hit the mark for her. She really enjoyed the chocolate version I shared with her. She said it was not overly sweet, it was just enough chocolate to satisfy her but without going overboard.  I have to say I agree with her. I saved the white chocolate version for myself. I liked the more subtle flavor and the crunch texture from the nuts in the bar.

The nuts really make a difference in this bar. Instead of the normal soft and spongy protein bar texture this is more like a nut or granola bar. There is also a version without the chocolate which makes a perfect option for those worried about melting.  At about 200 calories, 10 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber these bars are a great afternoon snack option, a much better choice than the candy bar from the vending machine you might be tempted to reach for. If you’re not worried about melting, the chocolate versions will help you get your chocolate fix as well.

So who’s ready to give these bars a chance? The amazing folks at thinkThin are giving us 3 sample packs of thinkThin bars, including the new thinkThin Crunch. To be eligible to win one of these packs all you need to do is comment below, telling me where you would eat your thinkThin bars. Is at your desk when the mid afternoon slump arrives or between classes? Let me know how these bars could fit into your healthy and fit life.

Open to U.S. readers only and all comments must be posted by 10 pm CST Monday November 22, 2010. Winners will be chosen at random and notified via this post and email (where possible).
