I love a good cookbook.

Especially one with beautiful pictures, clean ingredients and calorie counts already included.

That’s why right now I am loving Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Cookbook

For those of you not initiated in the clean eating philosophy let me sum it up with a definition from Clean Eating Magazine

:

The soul of clean eating is consuming food in its most natural state, or as close to it as possible. It is not a diet; it’s a lifestyle approach to food and its preparation, leading to an improved life-one meal at a time.

One meal at a time. I’m not perfect and I won’t say I eat clean 100% of the time, but every day I still keep making changes to how I eat to keep it as clean as I can while managing a hectic life and business.

If you’re trying to do the same thing, then I highly recommend this cookbook.  It is filled with recipes and tips that not only help you lead a clean eating lifestyle but also that taste good, can help make life simpler and perhaps help your budget a bit too.

For example, I used to eat the same breakfast Monday-Saturday: a whole wheat mini bagel and yogurt.  The bagels were quick, portable but a bit pricey.  In the Eat Clean Cookbook I found the perfect substitute, the Ever Ready Bran Muffin.  The recipe makes enough for a month for far less cash per serving than those bagels.  I can freeze them and still have something easy for breakfast, something I also know exactly what went into it.

I was also impressed with the larger than normal amount of meatless recipes.  Tonight I am making the Chick Pea Stew for dinner, perfect for a cold winter’s night.  I can’t wait to try the Black Bean Meatless Burgers now that my food processor is up and running again.

Ditch the diet cookbooks with the fake foods and try Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Cookbook
